*Job Descriptions (Dental and Veterinarian only)
Job Descriptions provide what is often considered one of the most important employment documents, especially if a hiring or employment decision is challenged. Our Job Descriptions section provides guidelines and templates for creating comprehensive job descriptions. Extensive information is provided regarding important statutory regulations, suggested terminology, essential job functions and the nine key elements of a good job description. Detailed job descriptions for positions in a Dental or Veterinary office are provided to dental and veterinarian clients. Each description is written to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and includes the required “essential” job functions.
Seven Steps to Successful Hiring
Seven Steps to Successful Hiring is a step-by-step guide that walks you through the entire recruiting process. Building the winning team begins with hiring the right person the first time. Learn how to effectively write ads, screen applicants, conduct meaningful interviews, request reference checks, and make job offers. This comprehensive component outlines what documentation and reporting is required for each new hire.
Staff Management
Staff Management is a practical guide that will ensure your success by effectively retaining and managing a winning team. This component outlines how to manage and retain your staff through performance appraisals, effective staff meetings, incentive programs and discipline. In addition, we’ve provided a summary of relevant laws and regulations and how they may affect the management of your organization.
Salary Administration
Salary Administration extensively covers wage & hour statutory requirements. It provides the answers to such questions as: What wage payments are required upon termination? What’s the difference between exempt and non-exempt? What am I required to pay for continuing education? What is considered a workweek? And much, much more....to support compliance with wage and hour regulations.
Personnel Forms
Personnel forms provide you with more than 70 forms you could need during the life of your employment relationship with your employees. Recruiting/Assessment
IPM—Integrated Performance Management
Note: This is a Web-based individual assessment (not software)
This web-based, user-friendly assessment quickly evaluates an applicant against a known composite profile for high achievers in the same type of position, i.e. hygienist, assistant, or administrative. The benefit is an accelerated insight into evaluating job applicants with competencies and personality traits that are needed for job success. The assessment, using leading edge human resources management technology for increasing employee productivity and retention, focuses on job performance-based factors and is a state-of-the-art tool for recruiting, screening, interviewing, performance appraisals, coaching, communication and team building.
The assessment is utilized to assess perceived attributes, motivators, character strengths, and limitations relevant to the job in question. The results are designed to reveal talents, attributes, and/or issues that otherwise would go undetected. The assessment represents a more objective and consistent means of evaluating candidates for success in a given position.
When aptitude, personality, and job-match assessments are combined with résumés, interviews and reference checking, the hiring success rate can increase to 75 percent. Improved hiring success leads to lower turnover. Better hiring should be a high priority for all practitioners due to the financial impact and—the emotional stress associated with turnover. Utilizing the job selection-job matching is a key component for reducing turnover.
IPM is an accurate, reliable and position specific job selection-job match assessment instrument that meets construct, content, and criterion-related guidelines for use in supporting hiring decisions. Because IPM is used in conjunction with traditional hiring principles it is not the sole basis for a particular applicant being rejected or selected.
With each assessment, a report is provided containing information about how well the candidate matches your needs. The report includes candidate and/or staff member information related to: primary personality attributes, communication style, leadership style, conscientiousness, motivational needs, primary motivators, primary de-motivators, decision making style, emotional intelligence, environmental/role adjustments, stress level and energy level.
The end result is a comprehensive analysis of factors leading to compatibility, performance, ability to adapt/flex, and likelihood of job success. Based on the degree of matching, the report will also provide specific behavior-based interview questions to ask that will help determine if the candidate’s degree of adaptability will make him/her a good match for the job and the position.
The assessment, quite literally, is the best of all worlds by supporting good hiring, better staff retention and teambuilding.
BonusPro—Bonus incentive software
BonusPro is a software program for setting up and managing an effective bonus and incentive plan in your practice. Geared for the dental profession, BonusPro is a proven management method for creating incentives, motivating employees, and achieving greater financial success for everyone. The fundamental principle behind BonusPro is that “Together Everyone Achieves More” – the T.E.A.M. Concept.
On a monthly basis, BonusPro compares the salaries that are being paid out for staff against a rolling average of the production and collection. Using the practice’s desired overhead percentage with national norms for comparison, BonusPro will automatically calculate whether a bonus has been achieved, and determine the bonus amount paid to each staff person based on the user’s defined method of distribution.
BonusPro accomplishes 3 important management goals:
Protects overhead
Protects profits
Provides financial incentives for staff
BonusPro’s options and features include:
2, 3, 4, or 6 Month Rolling Average
Optional Hygiene Bonus Plans
Multiple Methods of Distribution
Direct Bonus Dollars to “funds”
Tailored Reports
Tailored Reports that provide four report options:
Employee/Fund Summary
Individual Employee/Fund Reports
Plan Summary Report
Plan Recap Report
Reference and Background Checking Services
Pre-Employment reference and background checks are now more important than ever—the risks today are too great. The startling facts are that 56% of applicant supplied information contains one or more significant discrepancies. Up to 36% of applicants list false or inconsistent information about themselves, list false or inconsistent information about previous work history and contain incorrect licensure or education documentation.
By conducting background and reference checks, you discourage applicants with a questionable background from even applying. You can be assured that you will receive accurate, convenient and personalized service. By reducing bad hiring decisions you will reduce turnover and emotional stress. Turnover conservatively costs $10,000 to $20,000 depending upon the position—reducing emotional stress.....is priceless.
Now when faced with the prospect of adding a new team member, you will feel more confident with your hiring decision trusting you have verified the information provided by a potential employee.
